Halloween, the real deal

After lots of buildup and two church Trunk-or-Treats, halloween finally arrived. The kids were so excited! As per our family tradition, we went to Jim's parents house to celebrate Halloween and Bill's birthday. Yes, it was a school day, but everyone needs a break every now and then, right? Besides, if we had stayed home I would have had to take the kids trick-or-treating by myself since Jim had school in Fort Myers, and I wasn't quite up for that joyful experience. Jason and Abby and their kids met up with us for Trick-or treating again this year, which we always look forward to. Zoie loves seeing her friend Elizabeth.

Happy Birthday Bill!

Taking a break

Our kids (the older ones) have now reached the point where one neighborhood of candy isn't enough, so Jim and Will drove them over to the next one to get more loot. Needless to say we have candy coming out our ears. We may be giving candy away as Christmas presents this year. :)

Trunk or Treat

We had a great time at our ward's Trunk-or-Treat this year. It was fun to see everyone all dressed up and having a good time.

I actually got some cute pics of the kids before we left.

Aidan was a white ninja, don't ask me why. No clue. I spent an hour making him a mask to go with his costume, because he wanted one, but then he wouldn't wear it. Should have seen that one coming.

Zoie was a pink butterfly. Nolan's costume was a pain this year. He didn't make up his mind until a few days before the party that he wanted to be Wolverine, and by then of course all the stores were sold out of his size. I even recruited Elaine to shop in Fort Myers, but nothing fit. He had to settle for Harry Potter, but at least it turned out cuteMy friend Leah and I tried to pull off Madonna and Cindy Lauper. It's hard to try to look like someone else, but at least the 80's part was fairly obvious. That hair took forever, but was fun to have it different since I normally don't do anything except wear it straight or pull it up.
Jim went as Sean Penn, since he and Madonna were married in the 80's. Logan was the cutest little bat! Leah and Eric

The eighties chicks, Leah, Christina and me.
I love Halloween!

Zoie's halloween dance class

Zoie started taking dance class at the YMCA and she loves it. Her teacher planned a Halloween party, and the kids could wear their costumes and dance for the parents. They also had a little party after with treats from all the parents.

I wasn't finished with her costume for this year yet, so we once again pulled out the ladybug costume from 2 years ago. That thing has gotten a lot of use and she still loves to wear it, so it all worked out.Tap routine

Logan wanted in on the fun.

Craziness

It's all fun and games....

Nice.

Yes, I did warn them. I would have been mad that they didn't listen but Zoie wasn't hurt and I was too busy laughing!

Fall Festival

Prepare yourself for something quite noteworthy.... I am posting pictures of something that happened less than a week ago! What the What?? I know, it's crazy.
Last weekend the kid's school had their annual Fall Fest and we attended with some of our friends. It was great fun, a little on the chilly side, but the cooler weather made it feel like fall. (It's already gone, boo!)

Logan was a champ all bundled up, maybe it's because he was born in Jan, but he has always been a good sport about the cold. Zoie, sliding out of a bounce house
Playing with her friend Addy,

So fun! I wish they let adults in those things.

Even though it was cold, all the kids insisted on having snow cones. They happily enjoyed every teeth chattering bite while eating them, then once they were almost gone, the complaining started. We came home and had hot cocoa after.

Yay! Sparkly hearts!

Nursery Rhyme Day

Zoie's kindergarten class had a nursery rhyme day that was so cute. All the kids had to pick a nursery rhyme, practice it at home and then recite it that day wearing a costume or using props.
She decided to do Hey Diddle, Diddle, and we dressed her up as the little dog, and then she had pictures of the rest of the rhyme to hold up while she said it.

The class also had several rhymes that they performed together. Here they are doing I'm a little teapot, which is why some of them are leaning.

I'm not quite sure what Zoie is doing here, stretching? It was too funny not to take a pic.
Here she is doing her rhyme.

So cute!

Its the most wonderful time of the year, Ha!

I'm not talking about Christmas, but baseball season. Yes, it is upon us once again. Faster than usual because this year we decided to let the boys play in the fall season so that they could be on the same team at least one time. It's a little funny though because Aidan is so young, his birthday is actually the cut off, and Nolan is on the older side. Aidan looks tiny compared to most of the team. Oh well, at least it makes it easier for me since Jim is out of town so much. And I love to watch them play when they are having fun, which is almost all the time. :)

Aidan gets a little bored sometimes as you can see here.

He is making a nice divet in the grass.

Here he is playing third, which he enjoys much more.

Nolan, yawning at first. Must have been a slow game. he he

This is more like it. Here is Nolan pitching, which he LOVES, but unfortunately hasn't got to do much of this season.

That is all for now, but fear not, there will be more baseball to come!
